Samaúma is the name of a tree also known in Amazon as kapok and Tree of Life, due to its tubular roots that burst at certain times of the year, irrigating the whole area and the life that surrounds it. The music speaks of nature of a woman that relates to the nature of things and mysteries consciously, unconsciously, orgasmic and respectful. The lyrics, which appeared in the creation process from a book I shelved, it was set to music by me and Gustavo and chosen to be the single and opener of the album.

We decided to burn the record on magnetic tape. We used a Tascam recorder of 8 channels, in 1⁄2 inch. Samaúma was the first song recorded and guided the sound of the record. By listening the result, our sound engineer, Éric Yoshino, learned how to spice up the signal entrance to compress more or less on the tape, according to the arrangement. It was recorded with the band in one room and Tulipa in the next one singing on a tube microphone. The lead vocals were recorded live, an unusual process in our case, but it pleased us, both sound and performance.
The basic tracks were record in our Estúdio Brocal, São Paulo.m Afterwards, we invited an artist that we admire a lot, Jonas Sá, who played synth and electric piano in Samaúma, being responsible by coloring the entire disk. As we like to travel with the family, Pedro Sá, Jonas' brother, came along and reinforced the arrangement with his unmistakable guitar. The song is a modal groove of more than five minutes that flows in the blink of an eye. Impossible to hear and no think "Visit our cozinha (5)" (Samuel Fraga on drums and Gabriel Mayall on bass).

lyrics
Samaúma
Scrubbing my spine
In the sharpest part of a westone
I visit every other day, a 90-meter Samaúma (1) Who saved me from the last flood
I hide my stones and cloths
On the difference between a pebble and a boto (2)
The mysteries I keep in the likeness
Grouping by color on shelves
During the Piracema (3) I become golden
As the lakes turn silver
When it happens
Candle wax melts more easily
And the led lights are slightly reddish
I will mix vowels with seeds
I will make a hot water bag
I will dye my hips with earth
Delirium when I lean my body in the river
My verb turns to foam, I turn to foam
I become a verb, I become foam
I turn to spasm and I'm amazed when it turns to music
Did I tell you?
Waterfall on the back of the neck is the best cafuné (4)
