The uninterrupted use of cell phones has made our optic nerve sick. A nerve of a nervous, sick and medicated society. Exhausted. Não Pira (Don’t Panic) is a mantra disguised as funk-carioca (9) to be verbalized with the language and with the body. It's chance happening again. We were in Rio recording synthesizers with our friend Jonas Sá. Suddenly, I felt that the flow of his singing could add something special to the music atmosphere. We pen together the new part and we did the singing together makin’ a yummy sum.

Our funk-carioca, as a matter of fact, is an unusual connection between Pompéia (a rocker district of Sampa (10)) and the centenary, Botanical Garden in Rio. Samuel Fraga assembled a drum kit specific for this base and used a wireless snare as tom. Jonas Sá’s presence enhanced the arrangement as an instrumentalist, playing synths and mpc, composing and singing with Tulipa the interlude. Gabriel Mayall’s bass guitar was reamped and to bulk the synths sound we add new channels.

lyrics
NÃO PIRA
Don't panic, go on, take a breathe Step on the floor
Don't stop, wait, pay attention Rewind, rewind and showed up
Step on the floor to ground a little Torso relaxed, your chest
Get up, move on, change your sound Let go, wait, emotion
Your cell phone won’t give you the mood The whole thing is within you
Look right there, it's in you
Look there, and you’ll see
All that's good, all that's cool
What could be a flower and what is bush
Don't panic, go on, take a breathe Step on the floor
Don't stop, wait, pay attention Babylon
You fled from Babylon
IN THE SAMBA, ON THE ROCKS, ON THE TRAM, IN THE BURROW
IN THE BANG, IN THE BONG, IN THE ATTACK, IN THE HOLE FROM DAGGER TO CELLAR, TO STUMP AND TOUCH
IF WE CATCH EACH OTHER IN SOCKS AND WITHOUT A TOP MY BED IS THE TRACK, YOUR KISS MAKES PLOC
PALATE MELTS, PLATELET THAT EXPLODES
OXALÁ (8) DEFENDS ME AND I ASK FOR GOD
AN UNHURRIED KISS ON THAT MESS OF YOURS
STOP THE GAME
CAME TO ME WITH A KNIFE AND MY CHEESE ON YOUR IN HANDS
WOULD YOU DARE?
MY ROMANTIC PASS ALWAYS TURNS INTO A CHORUS WITH A LUSCIOUS MOUTH, DAMNED SALIVA
BLENDED SKIN, ALL RELAXED
DRUGS WITHIN SALAD,
DON'T PANIC IN THE RAGE
THIS TRICK WON'T SAVE YOU FROM ANYTHING
